Time for change! MTFC

This season whether anyone agrees with me or not, has been a complete disappointment. I think we are the only team in history to invest money into the squad and somehow manage to get worse! Paul Cox has been given too much freedom with bringing in players, at the most we needed five to six players adding to that squad that got us to the play offs last season but instead Mr Cox decided to reshape the squad completely and has made himself look a right 'plonker'. I mean the Godfrey Poku transfer what was all that about-paying money and then loaning him out for the season *confused face* and not signing Exodus just to re-sign when he realised that he'd messed up. The football this season hasn't been anywhere near what we know the players we’ve got can play and it just been one huge let down. Now is the time for change before it gets too late and our season is over. I can understand where JR was coming from by giving PC time, hoping to see the team from last season but it just hasn’t happened. If you saw Friday nights display against Dartford, it was just one big train wreck, there was nothing positive to take from the game at all. We have the players and the quality and with the right combination of players and personnel we can get back where we belong up at the top of the division gunning for promotion, but this won’t be achieved if Paul Cox is in charge, I’m sorry PC you’ve had your chance but now it’s time for change. Come on JR, listen to the supporters, this club needs to be back in the league and if it stays like this it’s only going to get worse. Up the Stags.

Bradford City vs York City match report

Zavon Hines managed to salvage a draw for Bradford city at home to their Yorkshire rivals York city, with a wonderful solo effort to get his first goal for the bantams. This following a sublime first half strike from Ashley chambers to give York the lead.

This was the first meeting between the two sides in sixteen years and York managed to grab the lead on the stroke of half time in this eagerly awaited encounter, as Ashley chambers reacted to a loose high ball on the edge of the bantam’s area to curl home a tremendous side foot volley into the top corner Jon McLaughlin’s goal.

York were pegged back within eight minutes of the second half, as substitute Zavon Hines successfully managed to dribble through the York defence to then slide the ball past Michael Ingham.
The play in the first half was shared and was pretty even, as expected going into the game. Both sides decided to approach the game a lot differently with Bradford playing a more direct game and York playing counter attacking football. Bradford started the brighter when just after ten seconds James Hanson managed to capitalise on poor York defending to only drag his shot wide. Bradford began to create chances with Alan Connell and Nahki Wells both failing to beat Ingham.

York finally came to life, when James Walker managed to squander a chance from six yards. The game then became scrappier as both teams struggled in the final third. But the away side managed to get the break through on the stroke of halftime as Ashley Chambers connected with a side foot volley on the edge of area which nestled in the top corner.  As the half whistle sounded, frustrated bantams fans made themselves heard as they booed off Phil Parkinson’s men.

A double second half substitution managed to spark a Bradford revival as Zavon Hines and Gary Thompson effectively changed the game within minutes of entering the field. Within five minutes of coming Hines weaved in and out of York bodies to slot home the equaliser and open his account for the west Yorkshire side.

Bradford began to pile on the pressure for the rest of the second half with other substitute Gary Thompson firing against the post and Wells managing to put a one on one chance wide of the goal. The game then had very little chances in the later stages as York held on for a well-earned point against their Yorkshire and league 2 rivals.

England vs San Marino match report

England succeeded the minimum of everybody’s expectations  as they swept aside a lacklustre San Marino team, winning 5-0, with Manchester united partners Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck both bagging braces and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain netting his first senior goal for England.
England found the breakthrough in 35th minute as Wayne Rooney lashed home a penalty to give them the lead. Two minutes later Welbeck made it two as he flicked in from an Aaron Lennon cross.
Their lead was extended midway through the second half when Rooney again found the net as he fired into the bottom corner to become England’s 5th all-time top goal scorer. Again not long after, his striker partner, Welbeck made it four has again he slotted home a low cross, with Chamberlain sealing the match shortly after.
The game started as it finished with England attacking and San Marino defending. Early on Theo Walcott then found himself through on goal to only be on the wrong end of a tackle, which could only be described as wrestling move from the San Marino goalkeeper, Walcott was then replaced by Aaron Lennon. England found the goal they needed when Welbeck was brought down in the area by Simoncini and Rooney dispatched the penalty with ease. Shortly after, Welbeck extended the lead with a trademark back flick to give England a 2-0 lead at the break.
The second half started slow and you could feel the fans and players getting more frustrated as the game went on, but the third goal was found in the 69th minute when captain for the night Wayne Rooney rifled a shot into the bottom corner. Not long after made it four as he stabbed home a Tom Cleverley cross. England their fifth and final goal when Chamberlain curled a sublime effort into the corner to give Roy Hodgson’s men the victory.
